"Energy saving" is the phrase of the month (and, let's face it, probably the foreseeable) and right now we're constantly on the hunt for new products to keep us warm/dry/happy without spending too many pennies.

The best energy saving appliances work just that little bit harder to do the job without costing a fortune and, with Amazon's Prime Early Access Sale, we've found plenty of products to shout about.

Sure, it might seem a little counterproductive to invest in new appliances. But the cost vs benefit more than pays off with these options, particularly if you're looking to make the swap with a product you use most days of the week.

Featuring everything from air fryers to washing machines, these essentials promise to put themselves to good use in the upcoming months. Whether you're looking to switch up your kitchen, bedroom, living room or other space, read on for all of the best energy saving appliances on sale this Amazon Prime Early Access Sale.

Amazon's Prime Early Access Sale runs from Tuesday 11 to Wednesday 12 October. You can expect a huge range of record breaking deals from 00:01 on the 11th right the way through to 23:59 on the 12th.

Yes - but you can sign up for a free 30 day trial period if you're focusing on the money saving element of these deals. There's nothing to pay up front and you'll also get 30 days of access to Prime Video, thousands of ebooks, Amazon Music and next day delivery (or sometimes even same day delivery, depending on what you’re ordering and where you’re based). Prime membership costs £7.99 per month or £79 for the year, while students can claim all of Amazon’s benefits for only £3.99 per month.

During the Prime Early Access Sale, look out for two different types of deals. First you have the Deal of the Day, running for the duration of the event. But then you have the Lightning Deals, a flash sale that will last for only a few hours or until stocks last. In either case, add to virtual basket as quick as possible to avoid disappointment.

We saw plenty of discounts across a large number of popular energy saving brands earlier this year during Amazon Prime Day in July, so we're expecting big things this time around, too.

Energy saving appliances promise to come in all shapes and sizes this Amazon Prime Early Access Sale, so you'll want to keep an eye out (or just scroll down) throughout the two days to bag the best bargains.

Are there any deals live now?

Yes, and we've rounded up the best ones below for you! Some of the deals are live already but Prime members will have the biggest pick of the bunch from October 11.

STORY: French President Emanuel Macron was warmly welcomed by Czech leader Petr Fiala at a castle in Prague on Thursday.Macron is among leaders of European nations – and some from outside of the European Union – gathering to discuss shared security and energy problems. It's a rare and symbolic summit of some 44 states – with one notable absence: Russia. This Prague gathering is the brainchild of the French leader: the inaugural meeting of what Macron calls the European Political Community."The objective is to share the same understanding of the situation, which is affecting Europe, and to battle out a common strategy, so a strategic conversation, which doesn't really exist at the moment, and which could reduce the divisions, and I hope that we can come out of this with a common project."German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that many of the problems facing those gathered stemmed from Moscow's invasion of Ukraine. He told reporters, "we don't accept that part of a neighboring country is annexed."Beyond lofty declarations there were doubts about the forum's concrete goals and actions. And apart from unity in the face of Russian military aggression, it's unclear what this gathering really unites, or what it might accomplish. In addition to core EU members such as the German chancellor, inside the castle Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan put a friendly hand on the shoulder of North Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski. Both nations are currently candidates to join the EU. Also present was the leader of a former EU nation: the new UK Prime Minister, Liz Truss.Pushing the boundary of what constituted Europe, Macron sat down with the president of Azerbaijan and the prime minister of Armenia, two former Soviet Republics east of Turkey, who saw a fierce flare-up in armed conflict last month before a truce cooled things down. Some dismissed the European Political Community, or EPC, as just talking shop. The president of the European commission said no major platform had been adopted."We did not adopt any official resolution. We just feel the need of having space for informal exchange of views on ongoing events in Europe and beyond."Anything more might be difficult to manage, not just because of its size but also because of its diversity and the traditional rivalries between many of its members, from Armenia and Azerbaijan to Greece and Turkey. The 27 EU-member countries will go on to meet separately on Friday.

STORY: Prince Harry and singer Elton John are among a group that has launched legal action against the publisher of the Daily Mail newspaper. They are alleging phone-tapping and other breaches of privacy, a law firm representing the group said on Thursday (October 6). The group includes actors Elizabeth Hurley and Sadie Frost along with Elton John’s partner and filmmaker David Furnish, as well as Doreen Lawrence, the mother of Black teenager Stephen Lawrence who was murdered in a racist attack in southeast London in 1993. Law firm Hamlins said in a statement: "The individuals are aware of evidence that points to breaches of privacy, including placing listening devices inside people’s cars and commissioning the bugging of live, private phone calls."Harry and his wife Meghan’s relations with Britain’s tabloid press collapsed after their marriage in 2018 and the couple previously said they would have ‘zero engagement’ with the four major British papers - including the Daily Mail - accusing them of false and invasive coverage. Associated Newspapers – the Daily Mail’s publisher – refuted the allegations. A spokesman described them as unsubstantiated, highly defamatory and said it appears to be “a fishing expedition by claimants and their lawyers.”
