The following are restaurants and other food facilities that were temporarily closed by Riverside County Environmental Sanitation Bureau inspectors from August 6 to 12, 2021 due to imminent health hazards. If the reopening date is not mentioned, the department has not listed the facility as reopening in this publication.

Los Zapatas Mexican restaurant, 13373 Perris Blvd. Suite F503, Moreno Valley

The following are selected inspections of facilities that are not closed but have major problems.

Min's Dumpling House, located at 440 N. McKinley St. Suite 103 in Corona, was inspected on August 12 and received a 73/C fail rating, including one serious violation. The onion pancake dough is left in the bowl on the floor and the temperature is not safe. In the other 17 violations, many of them were repeated in past inspections or over a long period of time. There were "excessive" numbers of flies landing on equipment (but not on food), ants on the floor, prepare The cooler was impounded for not refrigerating, raw tilapia was not refrigerated for an hour, an employee did not wash hands properly, the sauce was placed at room temperature and was contaminated with cooked meat, a dirty and spoiled wooden cutting board (not acceptable The material) is stored on the top of the trash can and used to prepare food. Marui Sushi is located at 2347 California Ave. Suite 101 in Corona. It was inspected on August 12 and received a failing grade of 80/B and a serious violation. Two employees did not wash their hands; the inspector noticed that hand-washing violations were a recurring problem and issued a subpoena. In the other 12 violations, several sinks were blocked or there was no soap or paper towels, and some foods were not refrigerated (after the person in charge agreed to discard some tempura shrimps, an employee was seen putting them in sushi rolls) , The staff did not track how long the sushi rice was left at room temperature, the frozen salmon was not safely thawed, the doors of the sushi display cabinet and non-commercial freezer compartment were cracked, and the ice maker had mold.

Bear Valley Market & Liquor, located at 32475 Clinton Keith Road Suite 111 in Wildomar, was inspected on August 12 and received a failing grade of 85/B, including one serious violation. A refrigerated display case and a walk-in meat refrigerator were impounded for not keeping cold, and food in multiple containers had to be discarded. In the other nine violations, there were flies in the food preparation area. This is the first inspection of the market since the trial period was lifted at the end of 2020; it entered the trial period in 2018 after failing three inspections within two years, and was closed in 2019 due to unqualified inspections during the trial period.

Charley Rokk's BBQ is located at Jurupa Ave. Suite G4 5145, Riverside. It was inspected on August 10th and had a failing score of 80/B. In these 15 violations, the inspector stated that the kitchen temperature was 100 degrees, the cooler was impounded for not keeping cold, the employees did not wash their hands properly, and the facilities needed to be cleaned. The inspector pointed out that sleeping in the following areas is not allowed. Prepare or store food.

Richie's Diner, located at 32150 Temecula Parkway Suite I in Temecula, was inspected on August 10 and received a failing score of 81/B for two serious violations. A chef did not wash his hands after handling raw fish, and the food was at an unsafe temperature in the detained cooking line refrigerator. Among the other eight violations, there were flies inside, the refrigerator was impounded because it was not cold enough, and the kitchen needed to be cleaned. This is the second time this restaurant failed its inspection in less than two years.

Kabab Crush, located at 350 N. McKinley St. Suite 102, Corona, was inspected on August 9 and received a failing grade of 80/B with two serious violations. A pre-cooler was impounded because it did not keep cold; the inspector noticed that the same unit was impounded in October last year, and the refrigerator in the restaurant did not display a thermometer. In addition, a large pot of cooked rice is not safely cooled. In 10 other violations, the only hand washing tank in the food preparation area closed the water source, employees were changing gloves but not washing their hands (inspectors pointed out that illegal hand washing and clogged sinks were a long-term problem), and there were flies, knives and The vegetable dicing machine was covered with food scraps, and the food was stored in non-food-grade Home Depot buckets. The restaurant passed the follow-up inspection on August 11 and the result was 97/A.

The One Stop Mini Mart at 4300 Green River Road, Corona, was inspected on August 9 and received a failing grade of 85/B, including one serious violation. After picking up a cardboard box, the inspector saw several small cockroaches scattered on the ground, and there were rodent feces on the shelves near the cabinets and soda machines (this is a long-term problem). The person in charge said that since the beginning of 2020, the pest control department has not been there. In the other eight violations, the store sold CBD-infused beverages that were not approved for sale, and the ice maker was dirty and in disrepair.

Del Taco, located at Indio 81566 Highway 111, was inspected on August 6 and received a failing grade of 83/B, including one serious violation. The inspector noticed "too many flies" inside. In 11 other violations, guacamole was left at room temperature for too long, and areas such as the frying area and ceiling needed to be cleaned. This is the third time the restaurant has failed inspections this year, and it was temporarily closed in April due to damage to the air conditioner and an indoor temperature of 115-130 degrees.

Armando's Bar & Grill, located at 73260 El Paseo Suite 1A, Palm Desert, was inspected on August 6th and had a failing score of 84/B. In the 13 violations, inspectors saw 3 live cockroaches in the food preparation area and dead cockroaches in the ice machine and bar. There are flies inside, especially in the food preparation area. The kitchen was "very hot" and the employees were sweating, but the rest of the restaurant was comfortable; the facility was told to ensure that the air conditioner was working properly and moved the portable air conditioner to the cooking line.

Kam Lun Chinese Food, located at 8th St. 66610 in Desert Hot Springs, was placed in a trial period on August 10th. A week later, the test result was 74/C and it was closed due to rodent infection. (It has not been listed as a reopening.) This is the third time the restaurant has failed inspections and closed for the second time in less than two years. The last time it closed in October 2020 was also due to rodents.

The barrel area at 35939 Date Palm Avenue in Cathedral City was closed on August 5 due to lack of hot water, but was allowed to reopen on August 11. It also passed the 93/A inspection.

All food facilities in the county undergo routine inspections to ensure they meet health regulations. Four points are deducted for every serious violation of the facility—if the violation cannot be corrected immediately, it may have to be closed—and one or two points are deducted for minor violations. A level (90 to 100 points) passed. B (80 to 89 points) and C (79 points or less) fail, usually the owner needs to improve and re-check.
