To hatch an egg, players will need to take the egg that they want to hatch and place them in their party lineup. Once this is done, you will require a certain number of steps from the player before it will hatch. Just start moving around the world and you are already working towards getting that egg hatched. You can also lower the number of steps needed to hatch the egg by putting Pokémon that have the Flame Body or Magma Armor abilities in your party alongside the egg. Some Pokémon who have at least one of these abilities include Ponyta, Rapidash, Magby, Magmar, Magmortar, Moltres, Slugma, Magcargo, Heatran, and Camerupt.
